When you have kids, every holiday seems to be a huge celebration. St. Patrick's Day is one of those holidays at our house. When I was growing up, it was the day I got to wear green and everyone pinched me even when I was wearing green.
Now it seems to mean a whole lot more!! My kids expect all
food to be green and all clothing my kids wear must green. They even tried to convince me they didn't have anything green to wear as they are standing there holding green shirts and cried when I said I wasn't going to buy them whole new outfits. They seem to think this is as important as Christmas or Easter. It is a fun day!!! The funnest part of St. Patty's Day is when you have a kindergartner.

Every year the kindergarten tries to catch Lucky the leprechaun. My son didn't catch Lucky this year, but Lucky took the gold chocolate coins he left for him. Look at all the hand and foot prints Lucky left behind. We found magic gold dust everywhere.

A few years ago I had the amazing chance to go to Ireland with my husband. Well, I guess the truth is I got to travel all over Ireland by myself, and my husband got to work 10 plus hours everyday. It was an amazing two weeks for me and a lot of work for him. The one day he could go sight-seeing, he had a horrible headache and spent half the day in bed. Since it is St. Patrick's day I thought I'd share some of my
Ireland photos.
Happy St. Patricks day!!
| This is on the Hill of Tara were St. Patrick gave his famous speech that brought Christianity to Ireland. The reason we have St. Patricks day. |

ReplyDeleteSt Pat's place looks like a Hobbit's house!
I'm glad you posted these pictures and stories. It helps clear up some of my questions about this holiday!
ReplyDeleteI think that's why I love this picture so much. It looks like a little hobbit house. Really it's a very ancient tomb. It's as old as the egyptian tombs and stone hedge. Possibly older! It's called the mound of the hostages.
