And we are having a . . . . .

I've been so excited to see my little baby.  Ever since the first ultrasound looked more like fluttering mashed potatoes than a blinking kidney bean, I've been worried.  I started to imagine my cute little baby coming out with 5 arms and two heads.  This pregnancy has been very different than my other 6. I've never gotten headaches before but with this one I get them daily. I usually don't gain weight, in fact, with 5 of my pregnancies I've lost weight. With this one I've already gained 25 pounds and I'm only half way.  I've already mentioned my hormones and how off they are.  I guess it could be that I'm 38 and I never thought I'd be pregnant this old, but I know Heavenly Father wanted to send this baby to us now. So I can't question that, right?  My ob/gyn that has been my doctor for 16 years and delivered all my other babies has been called to be a Mission President for our church.   So I have a new doctor for this pregnancy and he isn't the doctor I'm used to.  He is a nice man and a great doctor, but not the one I'm used to.  So with all these concerns and more, I've been excited for the 20 week ultrasound (which by the way the new doctor makes you wait for exactly 20 weeks before you get).

So we are happy and excited to announce that we are having a BABY!!  It's not a fire breathing dragon or a dog like my 5 year old wanted.  It's an adorable baby with 10 fingers and 10 toes, a four chambered heart, a brain and the cutest little tummy.  As for any additional body parts you were hoping to hear about, we will all have to wait 20 weeks for that announcement.  Due to possible family turmoil, my Hubby and I have decided to wait until the baby is born to find out.  I know it's crazy these days, but I've never claimed to be sane!!

Our cute little baby #7!!

  1. Congratulations! It's a regular shaped baby! We waited to find out with our first, and we got so much grief from people. Some people were almost horrified that we wouldn't want to know what we were having. Now it makes me smile when someone waits to find out. Can't wait to meet him/her!

  4. Adorable! I love surprises. :) But for the record, I'm guessing it's a girl! I'm sorry you had to get a new OB. I know how that goes. I hope the second half of your pregnancy goes smoothly, and maybe you'll feel a little better. You and baby are in our prayers!
