Happy 16th Birthday!!!

Ball was your second word
and you live, sleep, eat and breath Basketball still today

I know you are now almost a foot taller than me at 6 foot 2 inches, but I will always think of you as that cute little 7 pound baby who surprised us by coming 5 weeks early.

From you, I've learned before we go anywhere, we all go to the bathroom.  Don't try to go swimming with your Game Boy. Little boys leave surprises in their pants pockets (most of them really gross), and we should always check pockets before we wash pants.  Teaching teenagers to drive can induce labor!!

I've also learned, you are never to young to read the Book of Mormon. You read it for the first time on your own in 2nd grade, and you've read it many times since. I learned it doesn't matter how mean and cruel people are, we still need to try to be nice to them.  Even when they aren't nice in return.  You are truly stronger than I am. The first time you rode a two wheeler was on that bike ride we went on in that little Malaysian island. It was so hard for you, but you never gave up.  Every few minutes you'd stop and say another prayer.  We watched you in amazement at your strength and faith.  I learned whenever you need help pray.  I'm also very grateful you did make it because we would still be stuck somewhere in the Malaysian wilderness with two bikes and no way out.

Happy Birthday!!!

I love you!!!
