The last week of school is insane. So I thought I'd just recap some of our fun adventures from that week.
My 16 year old (He needs a nickname.) finished his Eagle project and now he just needs to turn in his packet and defend it. He made the honor roll again. He really hopes to get his license soon. We've told him once he gets a 5.0 he can. HEHEHE He hopes to find a job soon.
Princess got two awards at the Jr. High. One was a national gym award and the other one was for being a SBO for 8th grade. Everyone in the family is grateful we all made it through the 8th grade. HOORAY!!! Princess is the most excited. She says girls have too much drama that's why she likes to hang out with the boys. (That's her excuse and she's sticking with it. LOL) She's excited for next year. She gets to be 9th grade class President and be an SBO with her best friend.
Doll got the citizenship award for her 5th grade class, a certificate for singing in the choir and the Great American award. The Great American Award she worked really hard on. They give you a list of 16 things that you can do and you have to do 10 of them. She memorized all the Presidents of the USA in order, the 16 original colonies and the year they joined, the preamble to the constitution and a several other things. We are all proud of her!! She also sang at the school talent show.
My 8 year old (He needs a nickname. Any suggestions?) got a certificate for singing in the choir and won a prize for reading. He also performed in the talent show. He did Karate. We had gotten a board that he could break from his Karate Studio and he put it in his backpack to keep it safe over the weekend. Then someone stepped on his backpack breaking the board. We didn't discover this until late Sunday night. He tried to break a board that was a little smaller than the biggest broken piece but couldn't. Then Princess just goofing off broke the smaller piece he couldn't and talked him into trying to break the bigger piece at the talent show. We thought about hot gluing the pieces together so no one would know, but we decided to let him try. Everyone was very nervous. The smaller the piece of wood is the harder it is to break. He had never been able to break the board that small before. After they announced at the talent show that he was going to try to break a size he hadn't ever been able to do before, he not only broke the board, but knocked it right out of my husband's hands. I think it even surprised him because he forgot the rest of the kicks he had practiced. We were all very excited. He also a few days before got his Brown belt with a Blue strip. So next fall he should have his Black Belt!!
My 6 year old (he also needs suggestions on a nickname) also got a karate belt promotion. He got his orange belt and is now retiring from his Karate career. We all hope one day he will return, but he needs to take a break for a little while. He graduated from Kindergarten.
