Pregnant women should never have to worry about....
I've been thinking lately of a few things that I don't think pregnant women
should have to ever worry about. Now there are some things I don't have to
do while pregnant, and it is very nice. While I'm pregnant I don't have to
lift heavy things, change the kitty litter and worry about my weight (which
stresses me out even though I shouldn't need to worry about it). This
morning when my 10 year old daughter found dog poopie in the hallway. I
said, "I will clean it up." My daughter stood and argued with me saying ,"NO
YOU CAN'T". Of course, she had no intention of cleaning it up either. She
was just hoping someone else would, and she got lucky. My 8 year old son
took pity on his prego mom and without being asked did clean it up. (He has
always been my favorite!! Hehehe)
So that brings me to my list. My list of things that I don't think pregnant
women should ever have to worry about:
First let's talk about smells. Whether it is a good smell or bad smell,
pregnant women don't like them. So we shouldn't have to change stinky
diapers or clean up any poop for that matter, do the dirty dishes, go
grocery shopping, do laundry (besides trying to left the heavy baskets and
squeeze into the small closet they call a laundry room isn't fun. It's
painful and stinky!!), clean the toilets, cook, and I don't think anyone
should smoke or wear perfume around pregnant women. The worst smell of this
pregnancy was myself. Yep, my own perfume just about did me in.
Other things on my list would include, worrying about what we eat, exercise
or answer really hard questions like what should we have for dinner or what
are the names of all my children.
Now I come to the biggest part of my list. I have to say I'm grateful for
this sweet spirit that is going to bless our home, but I really don't think
the following any pregnant women should have to worry about. It just causes
much stress and increases your headaches and will induce pre-term labor. I
know I have all those things regularly. Pregnant women shouldn't have to
raise Teenagers!
Really!!! Why?!?!
You should never have to teach your 15 year-old to drive while pregnant.
After I tried that one, I really was having contractions and my husband had
to finish making dinner while I sat down and tried to de-stress!!
You shouldn't get letters in the mail from colleges saying they want your
first born son!! No you can't have him yet!! He is still my baby.
It's hard enough to think of a name that you and your spouse can agree on
and not gag when you hear it. Now we have to include my teenagers into the
discussion or they will forever hate you and the child. We'll never think
of a name!! Never!! My 5 year-old wants to name it Fred or Daphne after the
Scooby-Doo characters and my teenage daughter wants to name it after all her
friends at school.
I could go on with more things. Really I think the life of a pregnant woman
should be filled with naps, feet massages, yummy food, pedicures and all day
pampering. After all, it really is hard work creating a person. We work
lots of overtime and go through months and months of hard work and labor.
Don't we deserve a little pampering?
What would you have on your list?
HA! Cute post! Pregnant women should never have to even open the fridge because of the possibility of the smells in there! I think all meals should arrive from Village Baker or Scholtsky's Deli fresh and ready to devour!
ReplyDeletebut if we took it all away, you would die of shock when it all came back after baby was born!! (cheeky grins) ...
