I thought I'd make a list of things I want for Christmas. Now I realize that some things on the list might be too expensive, time consuming or just plain impossible. So I've given you my top wish and then other options. Just do what you can.
First wish: like Sandra Bullock in Miss Congeniality said," I really do want world peace."
Next best thing: all political candidates to say nice things about each other for 24 hours.
I'll settle for the news only broadcasting happy things for one show. (OK I just won't watch the news).
Second wish: my own kids getting along for one week!!
Second best thing: one day of peace and silence.
I'll settle for ear plugs!!
My third wish: a clean house!!
Next best thing: All my laundry being sorted, washed folded ironed and put away.
I'll settle for someone sorting all the socks!! (We have a lot of mismatched socks!!)
My fourth wish is a month long cruise to anywhere warm.
Next best thing is one night in a hotel with a hot tub.
I'll settle for grocery shopping without any kids and a hot chocolate.
My fifth wish is a cook!!
Next best thing is one meal that someone else plans, cooks and cleans up.
I'll settle for pizza.
I remember feeling so bad for my mom. Her list was short and sad. Now this year my list is the same as my mother's was when I was growing up.
I want world peace.
I want my kids to be happy and do what's right.
And a big hug and kiss would be a bonus!!
Of course I won't say no to chocolate and diamonds!!
